It was the perfect day for a friendly game of kickball. On June 16, 2023, twelve teams, representing a wide array of local organizations, came together at Boston College High School to support the work of Playworks New England. Team spirit and good sports were everywhere you turned, truly embodying the spirit of Playworks and the work we do to provide safe, supportive, and physically healthy recess experiences to kids in our communities.

The tournament play began shortly after noon and by 4 o’clock we had a championship bracket round to determine the winning team. It was a tough game but Holland & Knight were victorious, earning the 2023 title. Other notable awards included Best Team Spirit (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts), Best Newcomer (ALKU), and Play of the Day (Holland & Knight). Our competitors were treated to lunch and beverages donated by BoLoco, Dorchester Brewing Company, Nightshift Brewing, Downeast Cider, and Stormalong Cider.
